Needing a change after a dismal start to its 2023-24 PBA Commissioner’s Cup campaign, Converge has decided to change imports.
Jamil Wilson will replace Tom Vodanovich, who played the first five games of the conference for the FiberXers.
Vodanovich averaged 20.8 points, 12.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.2 steals per game.
However, Converge has yet to win a game this conference.
Wilson is a well-traveled cager.
Going undrafted in the 2014 NBA Draft, the product of Marquette worked his way up, playing for G League teams Bakersfield and Texas.
During the 2017-18 NBA Season, he earned a contract with the Los Angeles Clippers.
In 15 games played, he normed 7.0 points and 2.1 rebounds.
After his stint there, he played in Italy, Russia, Israel, Puerto Rico, and Uruguay.
He, along with JL Delos Santos, will make their Converge debuts on Wednesday against Northport.
Delos Santos, meanwhile, signed a two-year deal with the FiberXers.
The JRU standout was the 19th overall pick in the PBA Season 48 draft.
Delos Santos averaged 7.94 points, 5.83 rebounds, and 6.48 assists in his final season for the Heavy Bombers.
Delos Santos was activated in lieu of Mac Tallo.
Also promoted by Converge is CK Kanapi-Daniolco to alternate governor.
The daughter of former Shell executive Bobby Kanapi was previously the team’s assistant team manager.
