Converge temporarily has no representation in the Philippine Basketball Association’s board of governors.
Former league commissioner Atty. Chito Salud has resigned from his position.
The FiberXers made the announcement on Wednesday.
“As relayed to the PBA Board of Governors, Atty. Angelico “Chito” Salud has stepped down as Alternate Governor of the Converge FiberXers and will no longer be connected to the basketball team effective immediately,” read the team’s announcement.
“The Converge Management wishes to thank Atty. Salud for his guidance and leadership that allowed Converge to successfully enter the PBA.”
Salud will now serve as the development head of the Comclark Tech City project in Pampanga. He will also serve as a Consultant on Special Projects for Converge.
This comes a week after the PBA board denied Pampanga Gov. Dennis Pineda as the team’s governor, dropping Salud to alternate status.
Salud was supposed to replace Albert Custodio as an alternate governor. Custodio has now shifted his focus as head of human resources of the company.
