Coach Chot calls up Kobe, Kiefer, Jose

Gilas Pilipinas will re-open its offices with new faces

Gilas Pilipinas head coach Chot Reyes announced on social media platform Twitter that Gilas Pilipinas will once again hold its practices starting Tuesday, June 20 as the National Team starts its training for the 2017 FIBA Asia Cup and the 2017 SEA Games.

Called-up for duty this time are Gilas cadets Jiovani Jalalon of Star, Mike Tolomia of Rain or Shine, free agent Almond Vosotros, Ed Daquioag of Meralco, RR Pogoy of TNT, Matthew Wright of Phoenix, Von Pessumal of Globalport, Kevin Ferrer of Ginebra, Carl Cruz of Alaska, Mac Belo of Blackwater, and Alfonzo Gotladera of NLEX. Arnold Van Opstal has been asked to leave the cadets program last April.

Four new faces were also asked by Reyes to join the practices namely, Kiefer Ravena, Raymar Jose of Cignal, 19-year-old Kobe Paras, and 6-foot-8 Filipino-German Christian Standhardinger.

Ravena and Paras are set to represent the Philippines, under Chooks-Pilipinas 3×3, for the 2017 FIBA 3×3 World Cup from June 17-21.
