Gilas Pilipinas Women are headed to the main draw of the FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup 2024.
The Philippines defeated Kazakhstan, 21-12 (9:50), to conclude its qualifying draw campaign unblemished on Thursday at the Singapore Sports Hub, OCBC Square.
Having swept QD B, Gilas Women will advance to Pool C, where they will face Mongolia at 6:30 p.m. and Malaysia at 8:10 p.m. on Thursday.
The top two teams will advance to the knockout rounds.
This time around, it was Camille Clarin who sparked the Filipinas to victory.
Putting up just three total points on the opening day, the National University standout fired nine points in the contest — including the game-sealing deuce with just 10 seconds left.
Trailing 5-3 midway through the contest, Mikka Cacho and Kaye Pingol showed their prowess, leading their side to a blistering 11-4 spurt to leave the Kazakhs in the dust.
Cacho, Pingol, and Jhazmin Joson each added four markers as well.
Gilas Women also defeated Tahiti (21-3) and Maldives (19-11) last Wednesday.
