Cignal HD goes back-to-back with quick win over Sta. Lucia

The Cignal HD Spikers have strung together their first winning streak of the 2018 Chooks to Go-Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference with a decisive, 25-17, 25-11, 25-18, win over the hapless Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

Sta. Lucia dominated every scoring category, lording over with a 40-22 spiking advantage and 9-1 gap in kill blocks.

National Team stalwart Mylene Paat powered the HD Spikers with 19 points coming off 14 attacks, four blocks, and an ace. Team captain Rachel Daquis added 11 markers.

Cignal have built their win off their last one against Generika-Ayala over the weekend, and head coach Edgar Barroga is hoping his team has found their groove.

“Palagay ko naging composed sila kanina. Maganda ang kinalabasana,” said Barroga. “Gusto kong makita ‘yung game nilang ‘to kapag ‘yung mga team-to-beat ‘yung kalaban namin. Kanina, definitely, hindi masyadong lumaban ang Sta. Lucia, so malakas ang loob namin. Sana ganoon rin when we face other teams.”

Open hitter Souzan Raslan topped the Lady Realtors with nine points, while Pam Lastimosa contributed five.

Cignal HD (3-2) next face perennial contenders Petron Blaze Spikers (4-0) on Saturday at the Caloocan Sports Center. Sta. Lucia (0-4) will try for their first win against the Cocolife Asset Managers (0-3) also on Saturday.
