Cignal adds Meneses, Molina, three more for upcoming PVL campaign


Cignal continues to beef up its roster for the upcoming 2022 Premier Volleyball League season.

On Thursday night, the HD Spikers announced the acquisition of five new players, bannered by former Petro Gazz stars Ces Molina and Ria Meneses.

Molina and Meneses led the Angels to a bronze finish in the PVL Open Conference last August.

The duo last played for Petro Gazz in the PNVF Champions League. There, they helped the team salvage another third place finish.

Another former Angel in Jerrili Malabanan also joined the HD Spikers.

Molina and Meneses both played for Petron in the Philippine Super Liga, along with former FEU standout Malabanan. They will be reuniting with their former head coach Shaq Delos Santos.

Aside from Meneses, Cignal also added ex-PLDT middle blocker Marist Layug and former Sta. Lucia quicker Glaudine Troncoso to bolster its front court.

The team started to load up on talent as early as September, signing Graze Bombita, Gel Cayuna, Angeli Araneta, and Bia General.

The HD Spikers finished dead-last in the Open Conference in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte with a disappointing 1-8 standing last August.
