Many have wondered why Chiolo Anonuevo has not been suiting up for Far Eastern University over its last four games.
Well, the 6-foot-4 Swiss army knife has been nursing a mid-right foot injury that has kept him on the sidelines.
In fact, Anonuevo has been walking with a boot and is being guided by a walker during the games.
According to FEU head coach Olsen Racela, Anonuevo is indefinitely out from the team.
Anonuevo has only played in one game so far for the Tamaraws. He finished with four points, three rebounds, and a steal during FEU’s 76-51 win over University of Santo Tomas last March 26.
Many have stepped up for FEU during Anonuevo’s absence, including Xyrus Torres.
Torres dropped 26 points built on eight treys during FEU’s 88-74 win over Adamson last Tuesday.
“Last three games, medyo ‘di ako nag-step up hindi lang sa offense kung ‘di sa defense,” said Torres.
“Si RJ [Abarrientos] last game, ang ganda ng game niya. Pero bandang huli naubusan na siya dahil sobrang haba ng minutes niya. So dapat makatulong ako sa offense at defense.”
FEU faces Adamson University on Thursday at 7:00PM.
