Chery Tiggo powers through Nxled in straight sets for second win in PVL AFC

Chery Tiggo gained confidence from its come-from-behind win in the first set to defeat Nxled in straight sets, 26-24, 25-15, 25-18, in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City on Tuesday.

The Crossovers overcame a 19-13 deficit in the opening frame, with key contributions from Cess Robles, Alina Bicar, and Ara Galang.

Aby Maraño completed the comeback with a quick kill, 26-24.

That was enough to boost Chery Tiggo’s confidence, and it carried the momentum into the second set, overpowering Nxled 25-15.

The Crossovers then surged to a 13-4 lead in the third, cruising to their second win in three games after one hour and 39 minutes.

“Masaya kasi coming from a loss tapos ngayon panalo kami. Masaya kasi nag-translate kung ano ‘yung pinagti-trainingan namin, pero kasi mas priority din namin ’yung health. So meron pa rin sa amin na kailangan maka-recover, ‘yun lang ang laging ina-adjust,” said Chery Tiggo head coach Norman Miguel.

Robles was the top scorer for the Crossovers with 15 points and eight digs, while Maraño followed with 11 points, including eight spikes, two aces, and a block.

Chery Tiggo’s next game will be on December 3 against the unbeaten PLDT at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
