Cherry Nunag commits to Perlas

After spending the last two years with Petro Gazz, Cherry Nunag is set to move on to another PVL team.

This as the 28-year-old middle blocker is set to sign with Perlas.

“I chose Perlas over other teams na nag-ooffer kasi tuwing lilipat ako ng team, lagi ko talaga tinitignan yung mga kasama ko.

“Mahirap din naman maglaro kung hindi ka kumportable sa mga makakasama mo so looking at Perlas’ lineup, every time na nakikita ko sila, magaan ang loob ko sakanila kahit hindi ko man sila kaclose o nakalaban ko man sila in the past, at kahit na halos wala pa akong naka-teammate sakanila, very excited ako sa complete fresh start na kasama yung buong team,” shared the 2019 Reinforced Conference 2nd Best Middle Blocker.

In Perlas, she will join another former PVL Best Middle Blocker in Kathy Bersola.

This will be the fourth team Nunag joins in her young career.

After graduating from De La Salle-Dasmarinas in 2015, she joined Petron in the PSL. A year later, she transferred to the Blaze Spikers’ main rivals F2 Logistics Cargo Movers.

Nunag would then transfer to Petro Gazz becoming one of the original Angels in 2018.

In 2019, she helped the team cop the 2019 Reinforced Conference tiara.

“To Petro Gazz management, sobrang thankful ako na naging part ako ng family niyo. I think hindi ko na maeexperience sa iba ang na-experience ko rito, although I’m excited to make new memories with my new team, I will always treasure my experiences and journey with Petro Gazz,” said Nunag.

“Sobrang love ko yung Petro Gazz family, at kahit ganito man na lilipat ako sa bagong team, I will always wish the best for your team din.”

The PVL is looking to open its first season as a pro league on April 10. And Nunag can’t wait to share the court with the Angels once more.

“Kita-kita na lang tayo sa court.”
