Cheers erupt as Justin Brownlee graces PBA Finals

Justin Brownlee finally made his first public appearance on Friday night.

The three-time PBA Best Import was part of the big crowd that trooped to the SMART Araneta Coliseum for Game 3 of the Season 48 Commissioner’s Cup Finals between San Miguel and Magnolia.

With him is no less than SMC sports director and Ginebra governor Alfrancis Chua, the both of them watching from the Commissioner’s section.

Brownlee was away for months due to an anti-doping violation shortly after helpinh the Philippines win the men’s basketball gold medal in the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.

The six-time PBA champion, though, has been cleared by FIBA recently. He was issued a Notice of Charge carrying a proposed three-month Period of Ineligibility in relation to the anti-doping rule violation.

Brownlee is cleared to play for Gilas in the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers’ first window on February 21-26.
