While some try to treat every game the same, regardless of the circumstances, Ces Molina knows that her first matchup against her former team, Cignal, carried extra weight.
Determined to make an impact, she prepared even harder against the Super Spikers — her home for three years.
Molina helped Farm Fresh secure a 25-19, 25-20, 25-16 victory over Cignal, giving the Foxies a 2-0 start in the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference on Thursday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The 2023 Invitational Conference MVP delivered 11 points and six excellent receptions, helping Farm Fresh capitalize on a depleted Cignal lineup missing star Vanie Gandler and head coach Shaq Delos Santos.
“Well, ‘yun nga sinabi ko na galing ako sa Cignal before and alam ko ‘yung culture nila doon na lalaban sila. I know that coach Shaq will prepare also para sa mga next games nila,” said Molina.
“Today, talagang nag-prepare ako na hindi ako magiging stiff and hindi ko pinressure sarili ko whatever it is. Pero ‘yun, ginampanan ko lang ‘yung role ko sa team,” she added.
Cignal had just fallen 25-23, 19-25, 16-25, 25-27 to Choco Mucho in its first game of the conference, but Molina knows the Super Spikers are always capable of bouncing back, especially after a loss.
That’s why Farm Fresh was ready for Cignal’s fightback this time, countering every move and securing a straight-sets win to claim a momentary solo lead in Pool A.
“We know na talagang si Cignal is fighter, so gaya ng sabi ni coach, pinaghandaan namin na nung natalo si last game, alam namin babawi sila this game, so hindi kami nagpa-easy easy this game,” shared Molina, who signed with the Foxies last July.
