The Philippine Women’s National Football Team enjoyed another comprehensive victory over Tonga, 5-0, Saturday afternoon, at the Valentine Sports Park in Sydney, Australia.
Anicka Castaneda and Eva Madarang scored two goals each to power the Filipinas through. Castaneda scored her first strike in the 15th minute and sealed her brace in the 57th minute.
On the other hand, Madarang secured her goals late in the match as she found the back of the net at the 71st and 85th minutes.
Beforehand, it was Carleigh Frilles who broke the deadlock 13 minutes into the contest.
The outcome is the fourth consecutive victory for coach Alen Stajcic’s ladies as they prepare for the 31st Southeast Asian Games in Vietnam.
The Filipinas shall open their campaign against Cambodia on May 9, 2022, 5:00 PM, at the Cam Pha Stadium in Quang Ninh Province.
