Capital1 secures Trisha Genesis to bolster lineup

Capital1 gained a significant boost ahead of the resumption of the 2024-25 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference by signing Trisha Genesis, the team announced on Friday afternoon.

Genesis, who last played for Nxled in the 2023 Reinforced Conference, was notably absent from the Chameleons’ roster for the ongoing All-Filipino tournament, making her immediately eligible to join and play for the Solar Spikers.

For the former Adamson University standout, this move marks a fresh opportunity to reignite her professional volleyball career after underwhelming stints with Akari and Nxled.

Capital1 is banking on Genesis to strengthen their lineup as a dependable outside hitter with untapped potential. Her addition comes at a critical time for the team, which currently holds an 11th-place standing with a 1-5 record.

The 24-year-old spiker will join forces with key players such as Leila Cruz, Roma Mae Doromal, Des Clemente, and Iris Tolenada, as the Solar Spikers aim to turn their season around.

Capital1 returns to action on Saturday at 1:30 p.m., facing Farm Fresh at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
