Camarines Norte’s Jayson Miralpez debuts at ONE Friday Fights 85

A raw mixed martial arts gem from the Bicol region will receive the rare chance to display his luster in front of a much wider audience on November 1.

Jayson Miralpez of Warriors MMA Academy seeks to prove his worth on the undercard of ONE Friday Fights 85, taking place at the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

There, he goes head-to-head with Brazil’s Robson de Oliveira in a three-round strawweight bout.

The Labo, Camarines Norte native is regarded as one of the brightest prospects in Philippine MMA today, deserving of the spotlight.

At just 20 years old, he boasts an unbeaten professional record of 3-0, with all his victories coming by knockout.

His most notable win to date was a first-round stoppage of Lions Nation MMA’s Denver Songaben, which happened at Zeus Combat League’s debut event this past May.

Now, “The Dumangmang Warrior” aims to thrust his career to new heights by having his hand raised on the global stage, inching closer to a $100,000 contract and a sought-after spot on ONE Championship’s main roster.

However, a litmus test awaits Miralpez in his maiden appearance under the ONE Friday Fights banner.

De Oliveira brings more experience to the table, with a 6-1 win-loss slate and an 84-percent finishing rate.

Since suffering his first loss in April 2023, the Brazilian hasn’t looked back, racking up five consecutive victories.

This winning streak includes a second-round submission of Rahil Baghirov in De Oliveira’s promotional debut last August.

There’s no doubt that Miralpez has a challenging task ahead at ONE Friday Fights 85, but with the right strategy, he could reap huge rewards.
