Dave Marcelo, Caloy Garcia slapped hefty fines

There were fines galore yet again as the PBA slapped penalties on a few personalities following highly-emotional encounters in the ongoing 2019 Philippine Cup semifinals.

Rain or Shine head coach Caloy Garcia has the heftiest of fines, as he will have to pay a total of PHP 22,400, mainly due to his vocal disappointment over the calls in Game Four versus the Magnolia Hotshots.

The outspoken bench tactician will have to pay PHP 20,000 for his physical contact with referee Peter Balao, and another PHP 2,400 for incurring his third technical foul of the conference.

Garcia got ejected late in the third canto of Game Four which RoS lost, 91-92.

Elasto Painters slotman Beau Belga has also been penalized PHP 3,400, also for incurring technical fouls.

Meanwhile, Dave Marcelo and the enigmatic Calvin Abueva have also been fined for their actions in Game Four of the Phoenix Pulse-San Miguel Beer series two nights ago.

Marcelo got fined PHP 20,000 for his facial hit on San Miguel’s Christian Standhardinger, that led to his ejection in the game that saw the Fuel Masters take their first semis win, 92-90.

On the other hand, Abueva has to dish out PHP 3,400 due to technical fouls.
