Caloy “The Bad Boy” Baduria will step into the cage for his final fight against the undefeated Mariano “The Hitman” Jones at Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) 86.
Regardless of the outcome, the 43-year-old fighter from Northern Samar is determined to retire for good, bidding farewell to the sport that has been his passion since 2003. Baduria’s heartfelt promise is to create a lasting memory in his retirement bout while pitting his skills against the formidable Costa Rican warrior.
Speaking with conviction during the URCC 86 fight news conference in BGC, Baduria expressed his intentions.
“This will be my last fight, and I want a good experience out of it. It’s another challenge for me. But win or lose, I will be retiring for good,” he declared.
Eager to demonstrate his fighting spirit, he added, “My opponent is young and hungry, but I will give my best to give him a good fight.”
With a record of 11 wins, 6 losses, and 1 draw, including nine victories by knockout, Baduria’s striking ability has been a force to be reckoned with. However, his final bout will test his mettle against the undefeated Mariano Jones, known for his exceptional wrestling and striking skills. Jones recently retired Arvin Chan through a keylock submission, establishing his reputation as a formidable opponent.
Mindful of the challenge ahead, Jones acknowledged Baduria’s dedication, saying, “I will treat my rival with full respect by training hard and giving him the best fight. Whatever happens, I prepared myself, I worked on my wrestling, grappling, and striking.”
In an exciting development, URCC founding President Alvin Aguilar and Vice-President Co-Owner/General Manager Aleks Sofronov announced that URCC 86 will feature the first-ever grappling bouts in the history of the organization.
This addition is set to elevate the level of action, captivating fans with a combination of striking and wrestling techniques. The tournament is generously supported by online casino Atlantis, along with sponsors Angkas and Lucas Lepri BJJ, further solidifying URCC’s reputation as a premier MMA promotion.
