Filipino-American Caelan Tiongson has just joined defending ABL champions San Miguel Alab Pilipinas, as announced by the 26-year-old himself on his Instagram account on Wednesday morning.
“It’s official. Excited to continue my professional career in the Philippines!” wrote Tiongson.
Tiongson is coming off an impressive rookie season in the regional pro league, as he posted norms of 11.7 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 3.3 assists for neophyte ball club Chong Son Kung Fu BC.
The 6-foot-5 forward played as an ASEAN Heritage Import and helped the Chinese club team collect a 15-5 record in the regular season. The team also went to as far as the semifinals.
Tiongson will also be playing as a Heritage Import for Alab.
Alab, apparently, is acquiring as much talent as it can for the title defense next season, should main man Bobby Ray Parks, Jr. decide to take his talents to the PBA this year.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
