Roger Pogoy has a hectic schedule ahead of him in the 2019 PBA All-Star Weekend in Calasiao, Pangasinan.
In the festivities’ opening day on Friday, Pogoy will see action in the Three-Point Shootout. Later that night, he will reunite with his Gilas brothers in the Rookies-Sophomores versus Juniors clash.
Then on Sunday, the third-year pro from Minglanilla, Cebu joins the South All-Stars when they go head-to-head with the North All-Stars in the main event of the annual spectacle.
“Hindi ko inakala na ganito ka-busy,” Pogoy admitted.
The All-Star break is where plays take a time off from the busy season, but that obviously can’t be said for Pogoy. But despite the lack of downtime, Pogoy feels blessed to be part of it.
“Masasabi ko lang is blessed ako kasi halos sa lahat kasali ako,” said the former Far Eastern University standout. “Halos naman lahat ng player ang pangarap is maka sali sa All-Star.”
And he isn’t concerned if his schedule will tire him out.
“‘Di ko na iisipin ang pagod,” said the 26-year-old Pogoy, who’s been the leading scorer of TNT KaTropa in the Philippine Cup with 19.5 points per game.
“Ang iisipin ko is mag-enjoy. Minsan lang ‘to.”
