Bulanadi, Rangel the final cuts as Ravena, Ramos lead Gilas in King’s Cup


Thirdy Ravena will make his Gilas Pilipinas return in the King Abdullah Cup in Amman, Jordan.

Ravena made it to the final 15 of the squad that is preparing for the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup.

Joining him are Dwight Ramos, Angelo Kouame, Carl Tamayo, Isaac Go, Matt Nieto, Mike Nieto, Rey Suerte, Dave Ildefonso, Geo Chiu, Jordan Heading, Justine Baltazar, RJ Abarrientos, SJ Belangel, and William Navarro.

Cut from the squad are Allyn Bulanadi and Tzaddy Rangel — both of whom have yet to suit up for the seniors team.

Earlier, Jaydee Tungcab and Kemark Carino left the bubble in Inspire Sports Academy due to injuries.

Coaching the team is Tab Baldwin, who will have Jong Uichico, Sandy Arespacochaga, Sandro Soriano, and Dex Aseron as assistants.

Yvette Ruiz and a utility man will complete the delegation.

The team leaves on July 23 at 12:40AM.

Gilas will take on Egypt on July 26 at 9PM (Manila time), followed by Saudi Arabia (July 27, 6:00PM), Jordan-A (July 28, 9:00PM), Tunisia (July 29, 12:00AM), and Jordan-B (July 30, 12:00AM).
