Brooke Van Sickle joins PVL elite with third MVP award


Brooke Van Sickle cemented her status as one of the Premier Volleyball League’s all-time greats after claiming her third Most Valuable Player award in the 2025 Reinforced Conference on Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Van Sickle also won the league’s MVP honors in the last two All-Filipino Conference seasons. She now joins Creamline stars Alyssa Valdez and Tots Carlos as the PVL’s winningest MVPs, each with three crowns.

The 27-year-old outside hitter from Battleground, Washington, also added her second Best Outside Spiker award to her haul, following another stellar all-around performance that carried Petro Gazz to the Reinforced Conference finals.

Van Sickle finished second among locals and 10th overall — including reinforcements — with 160 total points. She also ranked ninth in spiking with a 35.48-percent success rate during the eliminations and eighth in digs with 3.23 per set, showcasing her reputation as one of the league’s most complete and dependable players.

Meanwhile, Anna DeBeer of ZUS Coffee earned the Best Foreign Guest Player honor after an electrifying campaign that helped the Thunderbelles reach their first-ever franchise finals.

The 24-year-old University of Louisville product tallied 210 points — second-best in the eliminations — powered by 197 attacks, eight blocks, and five aces. She also ranked third in spiking with a 39.40-percent success rate and third in receiving at 45.68-percent efficiency.

PLDT’s Savannah Davison joined Van Sickle on the Premier Team wings after winning her second Best Outside Spiker award. Davison led all local scorers with 178 points — sixth overall — while ranking second in blocking (20 total, 0.71 per set) and sixth in spiking with a 36.86-percent success rate.

Farm Fresh’s Trisha Tubu claimed her third Best Opposite Spiker award, finishing first in spiking with a 39.53-percent success rate and 13th in scoring with 116 points.

Maddie Madayag of Choco Mucho secured her third Best Middle Blocker award, leading the conference with 29 blocks (1.04 per set) and tying the single-game professional record with 10 blocks in an elimination-round match against ZUS Coffee.

Creamline’s Jeanette Panaga continued her dominance at the net, adding a ninth Best Middle Blocker award to her collection with 20 kill blocks (0.63 per set).

ZUS Coffee’s Cloanne Mondoñedo, the linchpin of the Thunderbelles’ rise this conference, earned her first-ever Best Setter award after leading the league with 6.24 sets per set.

Meanwhile, Choco Mucho’s Thang Ponce claimed her fifth Best Libero award, tying PLDT’s Kath Arado as the most decorated in the position, after leading the conference in receiving (55.42-percent efficiency) and ranking third in digs with 4.46 per set.

Finally, AC Miner of ZUS Coffee capped a remarkable rookie campaign with the Rookie of the Conference award. Miner ranked eighth in blocking (0.55 per set) and 22nd in scoring, finishing second among rookies with 82 points behind Capital1’s Bella Belen.
