Brandon Vera has suffered his first loss in ONE Championship.
Figuring in a slugfest, the ONE Heavyweight World Champion was the first to fold. He fell to two-division world champion Aung La N Sang in the second round of their Light Heavyweight championship affair, Sunday evening during ONE: Century Part II.
This is Vera’s first loss since August 31, 2013 — a TKO loss to Ben Rothwell during UFC 164. Vera fell to 16-8.
Vera, who was gunning for a second championship, was struck with a huge spinning elbow to his temple that stunned him early in the second round.
As the Filipino-American fell to the ground, N Sang swarmed him, causing the stoppage with 3:24 left in the round.
N Sang extended his streak to seven wins to go to 26-10.
