Bong Ravena preaches patience to TNT new boy Poy Erram

TNT head coach Bong Ravena hopes for Poy Erram to exercise more patience next time following a disappointing debut for TNT Sunday.

The 6-foot-8 slotman got booted out of the match in the closing seconds of the third. He incurred a technical foul for second motion, following a flagrant foul penalty one earned during the opening period.

With that, Erram was not able to witness his team eke out a 100-95 win over the Alaska Aces for a successful Philippine Cup debut.

“Si Poy, he needs to adjust. Nafu-frustrate siya.

“So he just needs to be patient. He has to adjust,” Ravena said after the match at the Angeles University Foundation Sports and Cultural Foundation in Pampanga.

The Cagayan De Oro native only saw action for 16 minutes and six seconds. Still, he was having himself a fine outing before being ejected, collecting eight rebounds, six assists, four points, and a steal.

One of his dimes led to a triple by Roger Pogoy in the opening second of the second frame. And that, according to the gunslinging guard, helped him gain confidence en route to a historic 45-point outing.

Still, Ravena remained firm on reminding Erram that he still has adjustments to do, although he assured that the team will be with him the rest of the way.

“Hindi naman namin pababayaan, andiyan naman kami e. Kailangan talaga ng adjustment — sa role niya, sa game niya. Hopefully next game okay na siya.”
