Blackwater to join Summer Super 8 tourney

The Blackwater Elite are leaving no stones unturned for the upcoming 2018 PBA Governors’ Cup.

After sending over import Henry Walker early into the Commissioner’s Cup, the Ever Bilena-owned franchise is set to compete in the Asian invitational tournament Super Summer 8 in Macao. The games will be held from July 17-22.

Competing in the tourney are the Elite, another Philippine-based team; two club teams from China and Korea; and one team from Japan and Chinese-Taipei.

As a twist, only local players are allowed to join the tournament.

The Elite will field in a team headed by Allein Maliksi and JP Erram. Joining them are Paul Zamar, Mike Cortez, Mike DiGregorio, Roi Sumang, Mac Belo, Raymar Jose, James Sena, Chris Javier, Rabeh Al-Hussaini, Renz Palma, and Mark Cruz.

Coaching the team is Bong Ramos.

Besides this, Blackwater will also debut their new jerseys from Team Rebel.

Last year, the Philippines was supposed to field a team but opted to join the 2018 FIBA Asia Champions Cup instead.
