Blackwater seals Jeffrey Cariaso as new head coach

Blackwater has made it official.

Jeffrey Cariaso will be the new head coach of the Bossing starting with the 2023-24 PBA Philippine Cup.

The team made the announcement on Monday evening. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

This will mark the return of Cariaso to the PBA after he was bought out by Converge after just one conference.

In his only conference with the FiberXers, the 49-year-old steered Converge to a 5-6 record, good for seventh seed in the playoffs.

Converge lost to TNT in the quarterfinals, 116-95.

Before handling Converge, Cariaso had been a coach for Alaska since 2015. He became the Aces’ chief tactician in 2019 after replacing Alex Compton.

The PBA great also had a brief stint as head coach of Ginebra.
