Defending PBA-Tag Heuer Women’s 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament winner Blackwater Elite kept their semi-final hopes alive after trouncing Globalport, 15-7, Wednesday night at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
The Elite improved to 4-1 in Group B, tying Rain or Shine for top spot. TNT, however, who have a 3-1 record, will still play one more game. The Tropa may force a three-way tie for top spot if they win.
Camille Sambile scored four of Blackwater’s first five points as the team held a 5-1 lead. Vanessa Santos and Julie Pearl Gula then scored a basket apiece to cut the deficit down to just 5-3.
France Cabinbin, however, converted an and-one play which eventually led to a 10-4 run for Blackwater to close the game. Cabinbin also hit the long range shot with 2.7 seconds left which ended the game.
In the first game, Star picked up their first victory over Mahindra via default.
Mahindra will end their campaign with a 1-4 card in Group A, while Star rose to 1-3.
