Blacklist-ONIC finale proves V33wise-Kairi trade was fair, says Tryke

Prior to MPL PH Season Seven, Blacklist International and ONIC PH agreed to a blockbuster deal that definitely sent shockwaves to the entire local Mobile Legends scene.

Blacklist International, after a first-round exit in Season Six, approved of Kairi “Kairi.” Rayosdelsol’s trade request. It shipped the then up-and-coming star to ONIC PH in exchange for the dynamic duo of Johnmar “OhMyV33NUS” Villaluna and Danerie “Wise” Del Rosario.

A full season after the trade, both squads finally met each other in the biggest stage of MPL Philippines.

And for Tier One co-founder Tryke Guttierez, the grand finals between Blacklist International and ONIC PH in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines Season Eight only meant one thing for both teams.

“ONIC Philippines versus Blacklist International finals means one thing for me, the two organizations made the right decision for both of our respective teams in the VeeWise and Kairi trade,” wrote the Blacklist International boss.

Blacklist International eventually won the championship after taking down ONIC PH via a 4-1 decision in the best-of-seven grand finals.

Since the trade, Blacklist International has won back-to-back MPL Philippines titles – becoming the second team to achieve such feat after Sunsparks. They also won a silver medal in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup.

Meanwhile, ONIC PH suffered a first-round exit in their first season with Kairi in Season Seven. It eventually made things work this season with the second-place finish.
