Biñan-Tatak Gel stormed to solo first place after overpowering Pasig, 91-73, in a dominant wire-to-wire victory in the 2026 Women’s Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League regular season on Sunday at the MRB Gymnasium.
Behind a balanced offensive attack anchored by Eka Soriano and Chack Cabinbin, the Angels showcased their depth with six players finishing in double figures, controlling the tempo from start to finish to remain unbeaten at 3-0.
Soriano led the way with a game-high 19 points, six rebounds, and six assists, while Cabinbin added 18 points, nine assists, and four steals as Biñan set the tone early, opening a 25-8 lead in the first quarter before steadily pulling away.
The Angels pushed their advantage to as many as 27 points, 76-49, after Danica Pacia split her free throws with 59 seconds left in the third quarter.
“Actually, ano eh, ‘yung two days na game prep namin, medyo malamya eh. ‘Di ko in-expect na ganyan ‘yung lalaruin namin. Siguro talagang may mga times lang na ganun ‘yung practice, pero pagdating sa court, maganda naman ‘yung ipe-perform nila,” said Biñan head coach Jack Azcueta.
