Biñan-Tatak Gel steamrolled Caloocan, 102-67, to extend its winning streak in the 2026 Women’s Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League regular season on Wednesday at the Filoil EcoOil Centre.
The Angels broke away in the second half after only holding a slim 35-32 lead at the break, tightening their defense and pulling away decisively to complete a 35-point rout that kept them unbeaten at 4-0 atop the standings.
“Slow start, pero at least nakarecover kami nung second half. Most ng games namin parang ganun, parang isang game lang ‘yung maganda ‘yung start namin or two games, pero the rest ganiyan talaga. Pero syempre good thing nakaka-recover kami,” said Biñan-Tatak Gel head coach Jack Azcueta.
Monique Del Carmen led the charge for the Angels with 17 points, three assists, three steals, and two rebounds. Eka Soriano added 13 points, seven assists, five rebounds, and two steals, while Claudine Santos contributed 11 points.
Ara Abaca and Meiko Yamada also chipped in nine points each as Biñan-Tatak Gel’s defense clamped down on the Lady Kankaloo, who were held to 26-of-65 shooting (34 percent) from the field.
The Angels further widened the gap in the fourth quarter, erupting for 41 points to fully seize control and finish strong.
Caloocan, meanwhile, remained winless after suffering its fourth straight defeat to drop to 0-4 in the tournament supported by Aktive.
Pontejos led the Batang Kankaloo with 12 points and six rebounds, while Joan Camagong added 10 points and five rebounds.
