Bianca Pagdanganan bounced back in the second round of the 2022 LPGA JTBC Classic with a 3-under 69, but barely missed the cut to go through the next round, Friday (Saturday morning, Philippine time) at the Aviara Golf Club in Carlsbad, California.
The 24-year-old golfer looked into the day on a mission after a huge struggle in the opening round saw her so far down the leaderboard. Nonetheless, despite going in the red for the day, she came out a stroke off the cut line with a 1-over 145.
Pagdanganan delved into the front nine for the morning this time and carved an all-important eagle off the par-5 No. 5 to go into 2-over in total. She stepped back one notch again with a bogey at No. 7, which was eventually negated by a birdie in the following hole.
Thus, the 2020 Tokyo Olympian went into the backside full of optimism with two gained shots and carrying a 2-over on the board.
Two more birdies off Nos. 11 and 13 saw Pagdanganan at even par and within a shot of continuing on the tournament.
However, the second-year pro miscalculated her approach on No. 16 and needed an extra shot. She tried to get it back in the next two holes, but it turned out to be her last two for the tournament.
