After almost taking her first-ever LPGA title, Bianca Pagdanganan caught herself at the back foot this time.
The tour rookie started well, but mishaps, in the end, pushed her to a tie at 63rd after the first round of the 2020 Pelican Women’s Championship at the Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida, Friday early morning (Philippine time).
Pagdanganan had some initial struggles in the back nine with two bogeys at the 12th and 16th holes.
Nonetheless, three straight birdies in between those extra shots pushed her to a 1-under 34 after nine.
The 2019 Southeast Asian Games gold medalist woes continued however when she took the front side of the course.
Three more bogeys at the holes one, three, and four, put Pagdanganan down the leaderboard.
A birdie at the seventh was not enough to rescue a double bogey in the sixth and the 3-over 73 total to end the round.
The 23-year-old looks to put herself back in contention as the second round continues, Friday (Manila time).
