Bianca Pagdanganan had a tough day and finished with a 1-over 73 to get to even 144, pushing her down to a share of the 38th spot halfway into the 2021 LPGA Mediheal Championship at the Lake Merced Golf Club in Daly City, California, Saturday morning (Manila time).
The current tour rookie started from the back nine in one of the last flights of the day, ready to pull from her 1-under start in the previous round.
However, just as what happened on Friday, hole no. 10 proved to be Pagdanganan’s waterloo after a bogey in the said hole pushed her back to even par overall.
The 2019 Southeast Asian Games champion then found a reprieve after a birdie at no. 15 pushed her back from where she started the day at 1-under.
Pagndanganan could not duplicate her previous round at the front side, and instead bogeyed two holes Saturday. The Filipino standout missed on Nos. 2 and 7. Fortunately, a birdie in no. 5 saved her day’s scorecard.
The same could not be said of Dottie Ardina, who missed the cut after an even-par for the day was not enough to raise her 5-over in the first round.
Danielle Kang of the USA zoomed to the lead with 7-under 137, after a huge 6-under for the day off with seven birdies — most from the backside.
Pagdanganan will start her steep ascent to the leaderboard as she takes on the course at 11:07 a.m. on Saturday.
