After a sluggish start in the KPMG LPGA Championship, Bianca Pagdanganan made strides in the second round.
The 2018 Asian Games bronze medalist powered through a five-under, Friday evening (Manila time) at the Aronimik Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, USA.
Coming from a disastrous opening round which saw Pagdanganan seven strokes over par, the seasoned Filipina golfer started the second round with a solid performance in the front nine with a birdie at the third hole to boot.
The 22-year-old then picked it up a notch in the next nine holes. She registered two more birdies in the 11th and 14th holes, before taking back-to-back ones in the 16th and 17th.
The two-over 142 aggregate puts Pagdanganan in joint 24th place, just six strokes adrift current leader Sei Young Kim of Korea, who also registered a five-under 65 for the round.
The Filipina pro hopes to continue her rise in the standings as she takes on the course yet again on Saturday night (Manila time) for Round 3.
