Projected top pick Bella Belen of National University was a no-show on Day 1 of the 2025 Premier Volleyball League Draft Combine held Friday at Paco Arena in Manila.
The three-time UAAP MVP and champion was absent from the opening activities, where draft hopefuls underwent a series of drills, including anthropometric measurements, strength tests, vertical jumps, speed and agility assessments, anaerobic capacity tests, and speed endurance evaluations.
The 22-year-old outside hitter is currently in Laoag, Ilocos Norte, as a guest of National University Nazareth School in the 2025 Palarong Pambansa.
There, the NCRAA team, represented by the Lady Bullpups, faces WVRAAA, represented by Bacolod Tay Tung High School, in the secondary girls’ volleyball final.
Prior to the draft, Belen revealed that she has yet to make a final decision about her future, as she is still weighing her options between staying in the Philippines or pursuing opportunities abroad.
Also absent on the first day of the combine was veteran playmaker Alohi Robins-Hardy, who remains in Hawaii to process some documents.
