Belen, Pepito unite for Alas Girls’ AVC campaign

A Belen and a Pepito will once again share the court.

Bubay Belen and Chas Pepito headline the Alas Pilipinas Girls team that will compete in two tournaments this month.

Bubay is the younger sister of National University stalwart Bella, while Chas is the niece of University of Santo Tomas ace Detdet.

Alas Girls, a team supported by Akari, will compete in the 22nd Princess Cup Southeast Asia U18 Championship from June 8 to 12 before going to Thailand from June 16 to 23 to compete in the 15th Asian Women’s U18 Championship.

The Philippines is slotted in Pool B alongside top seed Japan and seventh-ranked Iran.

Bubay will be joined by fellow Lady Bullpups Denesse Daylisan, Akeyla Bartolabac, and Harlyn Serneche.

Meanwhile, Chas’s fellow Junior Tigresses include Avril Bron, Kimberly Rubin, Jaila Adrao, Maile Salang, and Aneeza Santos, along with Lianne Penuliar.

Completing the young team are De La Salle-Zobel’s Gillian Marzan and Kings’ Montessori’s Ashley Macalinao.

Coaching the team is Taka Minowa, who will be assisted by Karl Dimaculangan, Vilet Ponce-De Leon, and Juan Miguel Dizon.
