Beau Belga to join UST Growling Tigers coaching staff

PBA veteran Beau Belga is soon set to join University of Santo Tomas’ coaching staff.

Growling Tigers head coach Aldin Ayo made the announcement on Thursday, moments after his squad’s 115-62 win over Technological Institute of the Philippines in the 2020 PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup.

Belga attended the said game at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City, though he watched from the bleachers.

This will be the first coaching foray of the 33-year-old Belga, where he will be alongside fellow Sorsoganon in Ayo.

Ayo said that the Rain or Shine center will help mentor UST’s big men alongside coach Jason Misolas.

The Growling Tigers’ frontcourt features Beninese student-athlete Soulemane Chabi Yo, as well as locals Rhenz Abando, Dave Ando, Ira Bataller, Ian Herrera, and freshman Bismarck Lina.

“He’s going to help is with our big men kasi nag-iisa lang big man coach namin, si coach Jason,” Ayo said.
