After all the controversy, National University Lady Bullpups head coach Babes Castillo has been named head coach of the NU Lady Bulldogs, according to multiple sources.
“Si Babes Castillo na po ang coach namin. Final na po,” the source from within the NU Lady Bulldogs told Tiebreaker Times.
“He has been the one handling the practices,” added another source.
Castillo replaces Roger Gorayeb, who went on a tirade just last month after he and the team’s manager had resigned from their respective posts, blasting Castillo.
In past interviews, Castillo denied that he wanted to coach the Lady Bulldogs. He said he wanted to focus on leading the Lady Bullpups to a fourth UAAP Juniors title.
NU, however, wanted to move quickly and find a new head coach as preparations for UAAP Season 80 draw near. His staff and the team’s new manager have yet to be named.
The source also confirms that Jaja Santiago has been training with the team.
