Unlike their 90-60 win yesterday, Ray Parks and Nagoya had to dig deep, bucking a Hokkaido come back to take an 89-77 win in the 2021-22 B.League season, Sunday at Dolphin’s Arena.
Up by as much as 19 points in the contest, the Diamond Dolphins saw their lead drop to four, 69-65, after a De’Mon Brooks jumper with 5:04 left in the game.
Coty Clarke was able to restore order, triggering a 6-0 blast afterward.
The final nail in Levanga’s coffin came with 2:13 left.
Ryoma Hashimoto was called for an unsportsmanlike foul against Takumi Saito. Saito converted on the two free throws. Then during the possession that followed, Clarke knocked down a triple that shut the door on any Hokkaido comeback.
Nagoya went up to 20-8 with the win while dropping Hokkaido to 11-17.
Clarke had a monster performance for the Diamond Dolphins, tallying 28 points, nine rebounds, four assists, three steals, and a block.
Saito added 17 points and nine assists while Taito Nakahigashi got 14 points.
Ray Parks saw himself limited to just four points on 2-of-5 shooting with five rebounds.
Shawn Long led Hokkaido with 27 points and 10 rebounds while Brooks added 16 markers.
