Though putting up a better outing, it was still not enough as Niigata absorbed a 73-84 loss by Shibuya in the 2021-22 B.League season, Monday at City Hall Plaza Ao-re Nagaoka.
The Albirex BB were actually up at the half 42-37 and just behind by four, 58-62, entering the final frame.
The Sun Rockers though went on a 14-4 run to start the final frame, sparked by a Josh Harrelson trey and capped by a breakaway layup — also by Harrelson.
Jeff Ayres could not stop Niigata’s bleeding as Shibuya’s lead went to as high as 18 points late.
Shibuya went up to 17-9 in the standings while dealing Niigata its 23rd straight loss. The Albirex fell to a 2-24 record.
James McAdoo posted 30 points on 13-of-17 shooting and 11 rebounds for Shibuya while Harrelson added 15 points and eight rebounds.
Rosco Allen’s 26-point, eight-rebound outing went for naught for Niigata. Ayres got 12 points and 14 rebounds while Yuto Nohmi chipped in 11 points.
Kobe Paras played almost 20 minutes in the game, finishing with six points with a rebound and a steal.
Niigata will next face Osaka this weekend at Ookini Arena.
