B.League: Kiefer’s effort vs Mikawa not enough to snap Shiga’s skid

Kiefer Ravena and Shiga suffered another brutal rout on Saturday, absorbing a crushing 71-108 loss at the hands of Mikawa in the 2021-22 B.League season at Aisin Gymnasium.

Ravena had a solid game, tallying 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting with five assists and three steals. However, the firepower of the Lakestars was not enough to contain the Seahorses.

Behind the trio of Anthony Lawrence, Jarrod Uthoff, and Davante Gardner, Mikawa raced to a 27-9 start and never looked back.

It did not help Shiga that new signee Worth Smith is still not able to join the team.

Mikawa dominated at all fronts, leading by as much as 45 point, 100-55, midway through the final frame.

Mikawa went up to 18-16 in the standings while dropping Shiga to a 10-23 slate.

Uthoff and Lawrence led the way for the Seahorses with the former tallying 25 points, eight rebounds, and four blocks while the latter putting up 21 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and two blocks.

Gardner got 17 points and nine rebounds while Avi Schafer added 12 points and eight rebounds.

The only other bright spot for Shiga besides Ravena was Novar Gadson, who got 15 points, five assists, and four rebounds in the game.

The two teams will meet again tomorrow.
