B.League: Carino, Aomori score just 40 points vs Saga

Kemark Carino and Aomori gave arguably their worst performance in the 2021-22 B.League Division II season so far on Christmas Day.

The Wat’s were dealt a 40-64 beating at the hands of Saga, Saturday at Maeda Arena.

Just how bad was their output? They only had 23 points entering the final quarter.

In the opening quarter, Aomori went just 4-of-14 from the field for eight points while giving up 17.

It got worst in the second stanza as the Wat’s shot just 3-of-15 while giving up five turnovers. And during the first half, they did not attempt a single free throw.

Come the third canto, Aomori was held down to just nine field goal attempts, converting three, while going 2-of-3 from the charity stripe while being forced to commit seven turnovers.

They were behind 23-51 entering the final frame.

Aomori suffered its sixth straight loss to fall to 2-22. Saga rose to 12-12.

Reynaldo Garcia led the Ballooners with 18 points while Myles Hesson added 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Renaldo Dixon and Hayate Komosawa paced Aomori with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Kemark Carino went scoreless, attempting just one shot while grabbing two rebounds in 11 minutes of action.

The two squads face off again tomorrow.
