Axel Doromal, Deo Lucero, 2 other Chiefs transfer to EAC

Emilio Aguinaldo College is loading up for what could be a special NCAA Season 100.

The quartet of Axel Doromal, Deo Lucero, Wilmar Oftana, and Jude Bagay have transferred to the Generals.

All four are former Arellano University players.

For head coach Jerson Cabiltes, having the four players, along with Harvey Pagsanjan, will make the Generals compete with the NCAA’s big guns — namely College of Saint Benilde and San Beda University.

“If we want to compete with the best, we have to have a deep team,” said the decorated head coach.

“It all started with Harvey and the rest followed suit.”

Doromal was the leading scorer of Arellano last season, averaging 16.0 points to go along with 3.33 rebounds and 2.39 assists.

He will be a one-and-done for Arellano.

Axel will provide as leadership and an added scorer. Malaking bagay siya sa amin,” said Cabiltes.NCAA-100-EAC-Deo-Lucero Axel Doromal, Deo Lucero, 2 other Chiefs transfer to EAC Basketball EAC NCAA News - philippine sports news

Five-foot-nine guard Deo Lucero, meanwhile, made strides in the Pilipinas Super League when he played for Cagayan De Oro-PSP.

Wilmar Oftana is a stretch forward who normed 2.9 points and 2.6 rebounds last season.

Finally, Jude Bagay is a guard who won MVP honors in the Under-21 competition of PSL Mindanao.

Lucero, Oftana, and Bagay have three playing years left.

Though EAC is set to lose Ralph Robin, Nat Cosejo, and JP Maguliano after this season, the Generals are more than ready with their artilery for the biggest season of the Grand Old League.
