Ateneo’s Jaime Viceo stuns UE’s Tranquilan, takes down UAAP 82 Men’s Foil event

Ateneo’s Jaime Viceo scored a massive upset to top the individual foil event of the UAAP Season 82 Men’s Fencing tournament, Wednesday at Paco Arena.

Viceo nipped two-time MVP Sammuel Tranquilan of University of the East by the slimmest of margins, 15-14.

This is the Blue Eagles’ first gold of the tournament.

UE still remains on top of the men’s leaderboard with a 2-2-0 gold-silver-medal tally heading into Thursday’s team events.

UST’s Samuel Mangarin and De La Salle’s Jose Lorenzo Mercado took home the individual foil bronze.

Action resumes with the team events starting at 8 a.m.
