Ara Galang looks to build on bronze series for next conference

Ara Galang starred in F2 Logistics’ bronze-clinching Game Two victory over PLDT in the 2023 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference battle for third.

Galang put on an all-around performance to lead the Cargo Movers’ 23-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-15 win over the High Speed Hitters at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on Tuesday night, helping the team reach its highest finish in the PVL.

The former UAAP Most Valuable Player ended up with a triple-double of 14 points on 10 attacks and four huge blocks, along with 16 excellent digs and 10 excellent receptions for F2 Logistics.

At least, one step closer kami,” said Galang after the win.

“One conference at a time naman kami. This conference nag-improve kami so tutuloy-tuloy lang kami, hindi kami titigil. Bronze is the new gold,” she added.

Galang’s numbers were far from her usual output back in her prime, but the former La Salle star – who dealt with a number of injuries in the past – has been a key cog in the Cargo Movers’ floor defense throughout the import-less conference.PVL-2023-Battle-for-third-F2-vs.-PLDT-Ara-Galang-2035 Ara Galang looks to build on bronze series for next conference News PVL Volleyball - philippine sports news

The 28-year-old outside spiker from Angeles, Pampanga said that she has been working hard on returning to her tip-top form and vowed to help the team in every area as they try to get over the hump and surpass their bronze finish in the next conference.

Galang also said that the team will build on everything they learned this conference and they will not stop until they finally reach their goal of winning a PVL title.

Hindi kami titigil kami sa binubuo naming sistema,” the 5-foot-7 hitter said.
