Anyang JKJ disappointed with KBL ruling, explores legal options for Abando’s injury

Rhenz Abando’s team Anyang Jung Kwan Jang is looking at potential legal remedies for the injury the Filipino import suffered at the hands of Goyang Sono import Chinanu Onuaku.

In a report by Naver on Tuesday, the Red Boosters are exploring this option as they were left disappointed by the action of the Korean Basketball League.

The league fined Onuaku W3,000,000 after concluding that Onuaku’s push on Abando was intentional.

Abando is still recovering from multiple spine fractures, a sprained wrist, and a concussion.

“The team is currently seeking careful legal advice. Once Abando, where stability is currently the top priority, recovers to some extent, they plan to seek opinions and decide whether to file a civil lawsuit,” read the report.

The injury happened six days ago.

Early this week, fans staged a protest in front of the KBL office with a slogan stating, “The KBL is indecisive. The opponent did not offer an apology. It’s the players and fans who suffer.”

Abando was averaging 9.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game prior to the injury.

Anyang JKJ, the defending champion of the league, is currently 11-18 in the standings.
