Animam posts 18-17 line as Shih Hsin sends statement in UBA

Jack Animam flat out dominated in Shih Hsin’s 95-47 win over Cultural University in the 2020-21 University Basketball Alliance season, Saturday at the Taiwan University Gym.

Animam tallied 18 points, 17 rebounds, three blocks, two steals, and a steal as the Tigers cruised to their 10th straight win.

After a close first quarter that saw the defending UBA champions gain a 25-15 lead, the Tigers put on the clamps on Cultural, limiting them to just six and eight points, respectively, in the middle quarters.

Lin Die added 16 points, and seven boards while Su Jiaxian had 13 markers.

Chen Yuti and Xu Wenxuan chipped in 10 markers each with the former scattering four rebounds, three assists, and three steals as well while the latter hauling seven rebounds.

Crippling was Shih Hsin’s defense as it forced its opponents to shoot just 28.3-percent from the field.

Masters student Xu Yulian paced Cultural with 13 points but went just 2-of-16 from the field. Rookie Wang Yueti added 12 markers as her side suffered their first loss in 10 games.

Animam and Shih Hsin will next face Fo Guang (8-2) on Sunday.
