Canino was taken to Makati Medical Center after the Lady Spikers’ five-set victory over the UST Golden Tigresses at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.
During the fourth set, with La Salle trailing 0-2, Canino went down after an inadvertent knee to the head from Shevana Laput. She appeared dizzy and had to be helped off the court.
Despite the scare, the UAAP Season 85 Rookie MVP made a triumphant return, delivering a stellar 27-point performance built on 24 attacks, two blocks, and one ace. She also recorded 13 excellent receptions and 13 excellent digs, including clutch plays in the decisive fifth set.
After the match, Canino was immediately taken to an ambulance and transported to Makati Med for further evaluation.
