Naturalized Filipino big man Andray Blatche took to social media to notify coach Chot Reyes that he wants back
After the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas announced that they are looking for younger options to naturalize for the next iteration of Gilas Pilipinas, Andray Blatche took to social media to say that he wants to be granted another chance to don the country’s colors.
In a post by Gilas Pilipinas head coach Chot Reyes about Jayson Castro, who retired from international competition after the 2016 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Manila, the 30-year-old big man commented on the post that he also wants Castro to return to Gilas and asked to bring him back as well.
The 6-foot-11 big man born in Syracuse, New York, last played for Gilas Pilipinas during the OQT. He posted norms of 25.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.0 swats in losses to France and New Zealand. Blatche is currently playing for Chinese club team Xinjiang Flying Tigers.
