After years of waiting, Andray Blatche will get to play as an import in the PBA.
Multiple sources closely monitoring the situation have told Tiebreaker Times that Blatche will suit up for the NLEX Road Warriors as their import if Gilas Pilipinas qualifies for the 2019 FIBA World Cup.
The development was first reported by Nelson Beltran of the Philippine Star.
Blatche – who dropped 17 points, 15 rebounds, seven assists, two blocks, and two steals in his first game under Guiao – will be NLEX’s import for the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup if everything falls into place.
Blatche currently plays in the Chinese Basketball Association for the 17th-placed Tianjin Gold Lions. The CBA ends around April, while the second conference of the PBA is set to begin around May.
But before all of this, Gilas has to finish in the top seven teams of the 2019 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers to make this possible.
