After a long wait, the IBF world championship bout between Jerwin Ancajas and McJoe Arroyo is finally happening.
Jerwin Ancajas (24-1-1, 16KO) is set for the biggest fight of his career as he challenges IBF World Super Flyweight champion McJoe Arroyo (17-0, 8KO) this Saturday at the Jurado Hall of the Philippine Marine Corps., Taguig City.
News about the fight broke out as early as February but was continuously rescheduled on several occasions. It was initially planned to be held at the Strike Gym in Bacoor, Cavite before finally deciding to hold the event in Taguig City.
The 24 year old boxer out of Panabo City, Davao del Norte, Ancajas is currently riding an 11-fight winning streak, 10 of which coming by way of stoppages.
He will be facing the Puerto Rican champion, who has been undefeated in seventeen fights. He is coming off a technical decision win over Arthur Villanueva in Texas, USA to win the belt a year ago.
The Ancajas-Arroyo showdown is promoted by Manny Pacquiao’s MP Promotions and will be open to public. Preliminary fights will start at 5:00pm.
