Allyn Bulanadi, Jaydee Tungcab to miss Gilas Clark bubble campaign

Two Gilas Pilipinas will not make the trip to Inspire Sports Academy in Calamba, Laguna.

Allyn Bulanadi and Jaydee Tungcab will miss the final window of the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers due to different reasons.

Bulanadi, a 6-foot-2 knockdown shooter, is set to have surgery on his right shoulder this month. The 23-year-old dislocated his shoulder during Gilas Pilipinas’ build-up for the Manama bubble back in November.

Bulanadi, who was drafted as the fourth pick in the 2019 PBA Gilas Draft, has yet to play a game for the nationals.

On the other hand, Tungcab, a 6-foot-3 defensive specialist, has been granted a leave by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas for this window as he is still waiting for his Japanese visa.

The UP product is set to sign with a B.League Division II team. Once he gets his visa, he can formally sign his contract with that team and fly out of the country.

Tungcab played in one game during the second window.

Both Tungcab and Bulanadi never missed a training session with Gilas prior to this.

For the first batch of Gilas pool members that entered the Calambubble Sunday, 10 members of the Cadets went in, namely Isaac Go, Matt Nieto, Mike Nieto, Rey Suerte, Javi Gomez de Liano, Dave Ildefonso, Justine Baltazar, Calvin Oftana, William Navarro, and Kemark Carino.

Dwight Ramos will arrive in the next couple of weeks as he spent the holidays in the States while Juan Gomez de Liano will head to Inspire also on the 22nd.

It is still unknown whether Kobe Paras will join Gilas for the final window.
